brand new key.

07.28.2011

i just had a birthday. let me rephrase that, i just had an amazing birthday. i was surprised by a wonderful group of friends who were all amazing sports and put up with a night of roller skating and dinner at hooters.

roller skating sure has changed a lot since the last time i went. i have fond memories of suicide slushes at the snack bar, tap dancing men shaped like pears, songs for especially skilled skaters like the limbo and shoot the duck. and yes, the ever popular hokey pokey still holds a special place in this girls heart.

this time was a bit different. i wasn’t allowed to bring in the balloon i was given, it was kindly held for me in the ticket booth. you had to go through a metal detector and the kids who thought we were too old played the ‘talk to the hand’ route or decided to get a bit more physical and stomp toes. all still managed to have a lovely time and i walked away with some wonderful new memories of roller skating and birthday parties.

brilliant sugar skull cake. yes, cake.

i have truly wonderful friends. thank you one and all.

heart.
